STRAHMAN FEATURED PRODUCT

These are unique, high performance Ball Valves specifically designed for severe services.  The Trunnion Ball Valve has a trunnion-mounted design to handle high pressures. Ball and seats can have special selected surface coatings. This combination makes it suitable for heavy-duty service.

A bottom entry design option allows very quick and easy exchange of the valve without removing the actuation. These valves are also available with both full and reduced bore.

Possible applications include polymer, power and mining industries.

SAMPLING VALVES

SV SERIES

This Sampling Valve series is our standard series with a non-clogging design (no dead space) and an opening indicator for safe user extraction. The SV series also provides a reliable live sample as the one-piece piston fills the valve cavity.  The SV series is used for both sampling and injection applications and can be customized to meet an entire facility's applications.

MS SERIES

Our Metal Seated series is dimensionally the same as our standard SV Series but is suitable for ANSI Class 600, 1000°F applications.

QA SERIES

Our Quick Advance Piston series with features of our standard valves with a quick open/close feature. The QA series uses a rack and gear combination to maintain the piston's linear motion and provides the valve with a full piston design while traveling just 1/3 turn. This results in less time and labor required to collect a true, representative sample.

Sampling Valves are valves dedicated to drawing a live sample from a process piping system. They also can be used for injection purposes. They are frequently used in many industrial processes involving liquids and gasses to ensure the product quality meets standards.
Samples can be taken in several ways, including using a ball valve to fill an open container. The issue with this approach is that there is little to no safety measures involved with a strategy to protect operators from the process. An open container adds the possibility of product surplus and spills that can harm and impose health risks to the operator. Using a ball valve for drawing live samples can lead to spills and splashing due to the valve's quick opening 1/4 turn nature. Ball valves also allow for dead space and clogging, which may leave old or contaminated liquid behind resulting in a bad sample.

DIVERTER VALVES

In virtually every process, there is a need to divert flow. This may be accomplished by the use of multiple valves, or it may be done through the use of diverter valves specifically designed for this purpose. Process pumps are sometimes high maintenance items, and they can be installed in parallel so that one may be serviced and/or repaired while the other carries the process load. With the use of a Strahman Diverter Valve, changing from one pump to another becomes an easy task without costly process flow shut down or down time.
DISC DIVERTER VALVES

The Strahman Disc Type Diverter Valve is specially designed to divert one main flow in two separate flows. The valves are designed to minimize retention areas. They are often used as reactor isolation valves in, for example, polyester processes. Equipped with the vacuum package, they are often used for full vacuum applications in combination with high temperatures. The valves are bi-directional.

When opening, the discs retract completely into the valve body. This, along with our maximized port sizes, helps our designs provide unrestricted full flow and maximum flow capacity.

The valve is available with a wide variety of options such as metallurgy, seat arrangements and actuators. Other available features are full jacketing, vacuum package and a wide choice of different body arrangements.

PISTON DIVERTER VALVES

To divert high viscosity products like polymers and slurries, dead space free valves are mandatory. Our full piston design avoids product build-up and clogging of the valve. Strahman offers a full range of Piston Diverter Valves specially designed for this purpose. With our modular component system, valves can be customized to match any piping layout.

The valves are available with a wide variety of options such as metallurgy, actuators and customized or standard connections to piping. Other available features are full jacking, rotating pistons for smooth flow, high viscosity flow control, and additional drain, injection or vent valves.

Typical applications include flow management of slurry type and molten polymer processes.

Available in 2-way, 3-way, 4-way, 5-way and 6-way configurations.

GATE VALVES

Gate Valves are used for isolation of a process line in the chemical and petrochemical industries. The safety of process equipment often depends on the reliability of these “key equipment” valves. Most of Strahman’s Gate Valves are customized to meet special process requirements.
WEDGE AND SLAB GATE VALVES

The main features of tight shut-off Strahman Gate Valves are the full bore design, the availability of metal or resilient sealing arrangements, and the choice between wedge of parallel seated designs. Jacketed wedge gate valves are mainly used in the polymer industry. Bellow-sealed wedge gate valves with welded lip seals are suited for toxic and lethal product. Slab gate valves are recommended for isolation of ethylene furnaces where heavy feed stocks are cracked.

DOUBLE DISC SLAB GATE VALVES

These are slab gate valves specifically designed for delayed coking, ethylene an FCC cracking service.

The double-disc gate valve has two separate stellited discs and two removable stellited seat rings; these discs are moving between two guides plates; when the two discs are in closed position, a flexible wedges system which is located and fixed on the side of the cavity body applies the necessary seating forces on the two discs to obtain the necessary tightness against the seats.  This design feature offers the solution to other designs that are known to become jammed due to high temperatures and the “sticking” of the discs.  These discs are then “dragged” along the seats without the proper release damaging the seats and making it very problematic to seat again without using excessive amounts of steam.

A superior purging system has also been implemented with additional steam paths around the wedges system to eliminate possible coke build-up. Additional purging ports can be designed as recommended during the design phase for maximum purging efficiency.

When the valve is in open position the flexible bellow located on the pipe is reinforced by 3 outside graphite rings which push the 2 parts of the pipe against the body seats creating a tight seal.  This design improvement solves
the common problem with other designs having the body cavity filled with coke blocking the discs in half position.

SINGLE DISC "SLAB" GATE VALVES

These are slab gate valves specifically designed for delayed coking, ethylene an FCC cracking service.

The Strahman Single or “Slab” gate design provides the end user with a long term reliable solution for line isolation.  The flexibility of the slab gate design including flange connections, materials of construction, and the choice of actuation - whether it is best suited for hydraulic, electric, pneumatic, or hand wheel gear operation will fit the needs of design engineers.  The slab gate design also offers a much smaller footprint and can bring a substantial weight savings over the traditional ball valves and wedge style gate valves.  These valves also eliminate the concerns of failure caused by a “sticky” ball or wedge gate and can be repaired at a much lower cost and much less frequently as traditional valves.  The combination of the constant cleaning of the gate surface with every stroke along with the constant steam purge system plays a significant role in the low maintenance design and
longevity of the valve.

Line blinds are safety devices designed for positive shut-off of piping, equipment or storage tanks where positive shut-off is defined as a device in a closed, drop-tight, verifiable, and maintainable position. PISTON TYPE BOTTOM OUTLET & DRAIN VALVES

Strahman offers a wide range of valves for draining process vessels and reactors. They are ideal for use in liquid and gas service, or with slurries, polymers and high viscosity fluids which may solidify. Our Vessel and Reactor Valves consist of our Soft Seal Piston Drain Valves, Metal and Dual Seated Piston Valves, Disc Valves, Rising Disc Valves and Spray and Rinse Valves. These valves have a variety of applications and uses across a wide range of industries.
VP SERIES

The Strahman VP Series are Metal and Dual Seated Piston Valves with high sealing performance. The M Seal and Dual Seal designs are dead space free reactor outlet valves. When opening, the piston retracts completely into the valve body, which provides an unrestricted flow. In combination with our maximized port sizes, this design offers maximum flow capacity. The M Seal is specifically designed for high pressure and temperature combinations such as polymer processes. For mid-range pressure and temperature applications with slurry or high viscosity products, the Dual Seal offers the unique double sealing guarantee. This valve series is available with a wide choice of options such as metallurgy and actuators. Other available features are full jacketing and dead space free connections to vessels. Typical applications include PET, PTA, molten and slurry type processes.

VD SERIES

The VD Series valve is a Full Flow Bottom Outlet Valve. This disc design is a vessel outlet valve. When opening, the disc retracts completely into the valve body, which provides an unrestricted flow. In combination with our maximized port sizes, this design offers maximum flow capacity. The valve is available with a wide choice of options such as metallurgy, seat arrangements, sealing systems to atmosphere and actuators. Other available features are full jacketing, vacuum package and dead space free connections to vessels. Typical applications include draining of viscous products, especially in combination with low pressures and/or vacuum processes.

DV VL SERIES

The Strahman Soft Seal Piston Valve is a dead space free reactor outlet valve. When opening, the piston retracts completely into the valve body, which provides an unrestricted flow. In combination with our maximized port sizes, this design offers maximum flow capacity. This valve series is available with a wide choice of options such as metallurgy, actuators and dead space free connections to vessels. Other possible features are multi-piston positioning for reactor sampling and draining through the same drain outlet. Typical applications include draining, sampling and injection for powder, slurry and suspension products. The Soft Seal Piston Valve is frequently used in PVC processes.

VR SERIES

The VR Series is a Crust Breaking Bottom Outlet Valve. This rising disc design is a bottom outlet valve. When opening, the disc rises into the vessel or reactor to break through any crust of material buildup to guarantee draining. The valve is available with a wide choice of options such as metallurgy, seat arrangements, sealing systems to atmosphere and actuators. Other available features are full jacking and dead space free connections to vessels. Typical applications include draining of low viscosity products.

SPRAY RINSE VALVES

Strahman Spray and Rinse Valves are designed to clean vessels and reactors without the need to open them to the atmosphere.
VS SERIES

The VS Series valves are designed for cleaning vessels or reactors without opening them to the atmosphere. The advantage of the closed cleaning technology is the protection of operators and environment against dangerous products used in processes like VCM and PVC. Rinse valves are used on batch processes — they clean reactors between batches. With closed technology and clean reactors, the plant can produce more product. Therefore, the calculated and customized VS Series Spray & Rinse Valves increase plant efficiency.

P SERIES
